D3.0 – Student Training and Course Deployment 1 – Hanken
Here, the results from Hankens’ contribution to WP 3 (Student training and course deployment) deliverables during phase 1 are reported. As we found it very motivating and achievable, we put a great effort in adding significant deep-tech elements to entrepreneurship courses at Hanken. At Hanken, we implemented training in seven different courses: (1) 18016 Business Development and Internationalization, (2) 18001, Bachelor thesis course, Entrepreneurship, (3) 22001, Bachelor thesis course, Management, (4) 18031 Advanced Corporate Entrepreneurship, (5) 1130 Management and Entrepreneurship, Helsinki, (6) 1130-V Management and Entrepreneurship, Vasa, (7) Innovation Management and Business Transformation. In total, 424 students were trained, and 69 students were mentored.
The main deep-tech focus was put on AI, which was a deep-tech topic in all courses. For example, in the course “18016 Business Development and Internationalization” a special emphasis was put on the valuation of deep-tech startups. In the bachelor thesis courses (18001 & 22001) a focus was put on understanding how to use AI-tools in the research process (discussant partner, prompting for language editing and improvement of the line-ofargumentation). In the course “18031 Advanced Corporate Entrepreneurship” students used AI-tools such as ChatGPT, Bing, or Google Bard for problem solving. Additionally, in the basic courses 1130 Management and Entrepreneurship (Helsinki and Vasa) students were introduced to the deep-tech topic. They developed simple business plans and made analysis of the future business environment where deep tech plays a central role. In addition, in the course “18024 Innovation Management and Business Transformation” students studied the fundamentals of AI and machine learning. They also made real-life studies of the forefront of AI in the business world. In addition, here the topic of Augmented Reality (AR) was also scrutinized in the same fashion as AI.
As this WP focuses on student training and course deployment, this WP complements our other WPs by creating deep-tech related student capabilities increasing their employability. The deliveries made by Hanken contribute significantly to the realization of planned deliverables.
